Tik-Tok is from a darkly satirical dystopia that applies some of the trappings of real-world chattel slavery to robots. I generally think this is done fairly well, with an eye to the way this warps and ruins the entire moral character of a society, and the way America in particular is already comfortable with some of the shapes of that ruin. However, robots aren't humans and the issues of their slavery are different, and Tik-Tok is....you know, extremely bad representation! It's pretty impossible to deal with Tik-Tok without that element, so if you want to opt out of interacting with him entirely, please let me know!

Tik-Tok's history also features some pretty awful ableism on his part (ie murdering disabled people and being pretty horribly gleeful about it) and if you want to have CR with him but avoid all mention of this, let me know that as well!

Tik-Tok's history also includes some awful complicated sexual assault adjacent episodes (not with him as perpetrator), and his canon includes a weirdly high amount of bestiality played for laughs (also not by him), both of which I won't bring up unless someone has opted into discussing it.

Other Characters Currently In-Game: Jedao Two

Character Name: Tik-Tok
Series: Tik-Tok, by John Sladek
Age: unknown, but he’s had a long and eventful life and is presumably an adult chronologically as well as physically/socially an adult model robot
From When?: from just before his planned execution, before the postscript where he’s going to be exonerated

Inmate Justification: Tik-Tok has killed many, many people, from dismembering a blind child to encouraging Latin American death squads. He likes to make his crimes do double duty, framing inconvenient enemies to get them out of the way. He has beaten a man to death in rage for cheating at chess and coolly assassinated a political rival. He exterminated a man’s entire family as part of an experimental “Operation Job.” (like the biblical figure, not employment) He likes to twist the knife, sending taunting letters to the surviving family of people killed in a plane crash that Tik-Tok arranged with a smuggled bomb. He makes his art agent eat his own cat. He plans to leave one of his political allies and earliest, most loyal supporters tied up to suffocate in his former owner’s basement. He shoots arguably his only friend in the head mere minutes after said friend rescued him from a police shootout at an impulsive bank robbery. He uses his corporation to make the world much worse in as many hideous ways as he can, but since the book was written in the 90s, the satire about throwing broke appendectomy patients on the street to maximize profits doesn’t quite seem as satirical as it used to. He has genocidal ambitions to wipe out the human race with nuclear weapons if he succeeds in attaining political office.SO THAT'S ALL GREAT )
